theROOT.com is an online publication dedicated to the black experience and was the brain child of author, Harvad Professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr.

CNN Special Correspondent Soledad O’Brien will host the 2nd installment, 2nd night of the somewhat controversial series “Black in America” which aired last summer 2008 to mixed reviews.  In light of the outpouring of support and divergent points of view surrounding the 1st installment, CNN decided to make “Black in America 2″.
