What I like about iask is the fact that there are so many caring 'children of Christ' who show that they care about each other by sharing hurts, happiness, sorrow and life lessons. It seems that every time I am down or a friend is in need of a positive message, the weekly message of inspiration is right on time! I really enjoy the scriptural references that I can study for myself and share with others as well. I love the messages and keep them in my folders. Deborah G. San Diego, California
There are many women’ organizations. Up till now, not many actively reach out to help, support and encourage men to join their mission. The iask organization sees a clear vision, value and victory in having woman and men achieving success together…they really are an inclusive organization. M. Murphy (Fairfax, Virginia)
The sisters of iask have been a great comfort to me as a brother in the organization during my battle with Cancer. Simply put God is awesome and He has blessed me with these wonderful sisters to help see me through. S. Collins, San Diego California
The sisters of iask sent me a beautiful card when I was feeling so down about my grandmother being ill. I am usually the person praying for others and encouraging others. It was so humbling and so uplifting to receive encouragement and sincere concern from a group of Christian women, that even though we've never met face to face, are truly my sisters. iask is a wonderful, wonderful support network. Sis A. Russell, Maryland
The Sister Holiday Tea was a refreshing surprise! Anytime Sista's can come together on one accord under the umbrella of faith, love, friendship and shared success, is definitely a forward step into a promising future for all. It was time well spent being amongst a productive assembly in the spirit of true womanhood. Dionne Character, New Orleans Native 2006 I am writing to express excitement and congratulations for the work you and others have been doing with iask. I read the email this morning and thought - wow, this organization has blossomed so beautifully in such a short period of time. I trust you are very proud of the organization. (I'm also fairly sure that it doesn't seem like a short period of time for you!) Sis Lillyanne McLean, WDC March 2007 iask, Inc has been a source of strength, enhanced my spiritual growth and reconfirmed how important our faith is as we face the many challenges in our lives. The support from iask has been especially meaningful during my time of diagnoses and the road to recovery from breast cancer during the last eight months. The Weekly Messages are also very inspirational and are something I look forward to receiving and sharing with others- Fran in Reston, VA I would like to thank iask for the card and prayers in response to my mother's death in December around Christmas. Your thoughtfulness was greatly appreciated during a very stressful and sorrow filled time. the prayers you include in your messages are helpful and thank you for taking the time to be so helpfulPhyllis Lyles, Maryland I have learned that we will face countless challenges during this earthly journey. For me, iask has proven that if you remain close to God and true to self, you are never alone. I am blessed to be surrounded by, and have access to, so many sisters of faith. iask is truly food for the soul. J.T., Washington, DC The Christmas Tea was my first event with the iask organization but even before that, the connection I had with Sophia and her warm and giving spirit and trying to help promote a sista was really moving to me! It is very rare nowadays when we women of color try to support our own because of jealously and resentment. Me myself, I have always encouraged other women because I know a seed will be planted and in turn God will bless you even greater. To say all of that, the Christmas Tea was so moving and I could feel the love and support and I believe because of the leader that Sophia is, God draws these type of women together and I am glad I am apart of it, continue to be encouraged and know that God is well pleased with what you are doing. (I know I got carried away so you can narrow it down, but I was feeling this from the heart) Nina Crump, WDC (Gospel Recording Artist) iask has been a wonderful blessing to a friend in need. The prayers and gift of love was such a wonderful touch during a very difficult time. I thank God for the thoughtfulness and kindness shown to a stranger. I join my friend in saying thanks and God Bless You. Tamie in Mitchellville MD I have always been a really charismatic person. I can attract the right people and get things done. From time to time, when the rubber met the road, I would back down. Back down from my destiny, back down from my dreams, and sometimes back down from the very call God has placed on my life. From the outside, you would never know this but I knew. One day, while playing golf in a women's tournament, I met the most bubbly person. That person was Sophia Nelson. She invited me to join their women's group, I Am My Sister's Keeper. Not only that, she invited me to be her friend, and my life has not been the same. I now have a network of people who pray for me and I for them. I now know what it is like to truly know that someone is keeping and encouraging you, and the awesome responsibility (change words) the awesome privilege it is to be the post to keep your sister standing. I would admonish any sister, who reads through these testimonies to become a part of this phenomenal network of women ... Women of courage, women of faith, women of purpose, women of destiny, women of trials, and women of triumphs. I can say that my shell has been shattered and now I can be what God has called all of us to be ... My Sisters' Keeper. Talaya S. Simpson, Bowie Maryland There are many women’ organizations. Collins, San Diego California As a Breast Cancer survivor, I recently had a scare that the Cancer may have come back. Thankfully it did not. The messages of encouragement from iask and its officers meant a lot to me during this time. I was also able to get some short-term financial assistance when I needed it last year. Thanks iask!
